Make a holiday meal to remember with a showstopping bourbon and cherry glazed Carlton Farms ham. This hassle-free glaze uses a single pot, leaving plenty of room on the stove for your side dishes. The cherry and bourbon flavors pair perfectly with the smokiness of the ham and will have your guests asking for seconds.

Dark Cherry Maple Bourbon Ham Glaze

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Frozen Pitted Cherries (10oz bag)
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbs Real Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Bourbon
  • 1/4 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Tbs Prepared Dijon or Whole Grain Mustard
  • 1 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Whole Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Whole Star Anise (optional)

Prepare the Glaze:

Add all ingredients to a small pot and simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes until glaze has reduced by about half. Remove pot from heat. The glaze will thicken as it stands.
Separate the cherries from the liquid. The liquid will be used to glaze the ham and we will serve the softened cherries alongside the ham.

Reheat and Glaze the Ham:

Preheat your oven to 325°. Remove ham from packaging and remove the small plastic disk on the face of the ham. Place ham face down on a rack in a roasting pan. Add 1 Cup of Orange juice, water or broth to the bottom of the pan. This ensures a juicy and moist ham! Cover tightly with heavy duty aluminum foil and place pan on the center rack of the oven. After about 40 minutes. Remove ham from oven. Remove foil covering. Glaze the ham with a brush or by spooning it over the meat. Be sure to cover the whole ham. You can even drizzle between the precut slices if desired. Put the ham back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes. Remove the ham and glaze with the remainder of the cherry glaze. Put the ham back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes until the glaze is sticky and shiny.
